La Botiga DU is a project whose mission is to improve the quality of life and promote the social integration of people at risk of social exclusion in Ullastrell, through real and dignified work. To achieve this, it uses a powerful business structure that works to create value within the organization and for the rest of society.
Work, an essential element in people's lives
Our activities are based on the idea that work can act as a key element in the rehabilitation process of any person, as it increases their self-esteem and changes their role within the family and society, moving from being a passive element to a person who actively contributes to their environment.
An integrated model for different non-profit activities
Our project is classified by economic activities, all non-profit that allow the development of different productive activities, employment, welfare services and social integration.
These activities are: The cultivation of cereals and other crops; the grazing, breeding, rearing and general exploitation of sheep and goats; the artisanal production of fresh and matured cheeses; and retail and wholesale trade of meat, fruits, vegetables and products linked to farming and gardening. The gardening service, dairy goat farming, the production of dairy products, ice cream and jams or the Visitor Service are the business activities that allow the project to continue to advance.
Entering the mass consumer market with La Botiga products has undoubtedly been a step forward that has helped the social project to grow, to the point of providing work to all people with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental illness in Ullastrell and working for an increasing number of people at risk of exclusion in the province.
La Botiga DU services
Over the years, La Botiga has expanded its services and added new ones. On the other hand, we have a job placement service in ordinary companies for people in vulnerable situations and we offer training courses for social entrepreneurship.
La Botiga DU products
We produce products with natural ingredients and artisanal processes, with the aim of always offering the highest quality. Since we started production with farm milk, we have been incorporating new dairy product references, such as desserts and ice cream, as well as other manufacturing processes and raw materials that have allowed us to launch the latest innovations on the market.
